On US militarism and ‘war on terror’ in the Asia-Pacific region

Militarism and expansionism characterized the US as a global imperialist power at the turn of the 20th century. The US reached across the Pacific and turned the Philippines into its colony and military outpost in Asia. It emerged from the Second World War the strongest and most prosperous industrial capitalist country, while the economies of its European allies as well as their former adversaries Germany, Italy and Japan (the Axis powers) were devastated.
Global trends, challenges and opportunities after 9/11
The US has enjoyed the position of sole superpower since the disintegration of the Soviet Union and end of the Cold War. It is the No. 1 imperialist power in economic and military terms. It still dictates the policies governing the world capitalist system through the Group of 8, OECD, the IMF, World Bank, WTO, […]

I. Imperialist War and Plunder Since the First International Assembly of the ILPS in 2001, the economic crisis of the world capitalist system has worsened rapidly. Contradictions in the world capitalist system and the necessity of socialist revolution
The General Crisis of the World Capitalist System As Lenin pointed out, imperialism is the highest and final stage of capitalism. It is an utterly parasitic and moribund kind of capitalism. This had been the battlecry of the pre-monopoly bourgeoisie against state trading monopolies and regulations. By the last quarter of the century of the 19th century, the monopoly […]
Advance the people’s resistance to imperialist globalization
Globalization is imperialism Globalization is a slick and shallow term. It glosses over the reality of modern imperialism or monopoly capitalism, i.e., capitalism beyond the stage of free competition, the capitalism of a few gigantic MNCs monopolizing investment, production, sales, trade and profits. Corporate executives, bureaucrats, bourgeois academic pedants and imperialist-funded NGOs have circulated the […]
